Proposal Introduction

This project proposal is for the installation of a Medical Technology Wireless Data Network to be used by four Medical Technology Service (MTS) personnel at St. Mary Hospital . This proposal facilitates remote and wireless access to departmental service documentation, equipment history, communications and service alerts. Using mobile technology and building on our existing network infrastructure, users will have access to our AIMS Database and all equipment data files. The addition of Barcode readers will help input data directly into our database.

• 1 Battery Charger $ 149.00
• Labor $ 200.00
• Training $ 250.00

HIPAA Compliance Guidelines

In ensure HIPAA compliance the following items are recommended:

• MTS Policy to be amended to reflect HIPAA guidelines
• Information to be shared or transmitted only for direct patient care
• Confidentiality to be our main HIPPA concern
• No Mobile units shall be left unattended without proper shutdown
• HIPAA training to be provided to all staff

Security Guidelines

To provide the maximum network security the following measures are proposed:

• Physical security to be implemented for all mobile devices
• Password complexity and screen saver lockouts on all mobile devices
• All network transmissions will be encrypted
• Unauthorized access will be restricted
